OntoMotoOS : Toward Responsible Evolution in Record-Keeping: Integrating DOI and Phoenix Mechanism for Transparency and Growth

Description

This paper proposes a conceptual integration of the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system and the Phoenix mechanism from OntoMotoOS as a novel framework for responsible and adaptive record-keeping. DOI ensures immutable, citable records that guarantee accountability and traceability. The Phoenix mechanism, by contrast, introduces resilience and ethical growth by logging failures and enabling systematic recovery. Together, they establish a complementary ethics of record: DOI preserves permanence and responsibility, while Phoenix allows records to evolve with context and remediation. We argue that this integration supports a new paradigm of responsible evolution in personal, organizational, and societal archives, balancing transparency with the right to change. Application scenarios in governance, institutions, and personal narratives are discussed, highlighting implications for accountability, collective memory, and ethical growth.
