Highlight Test Code: ARTIFACT

This repository contains the complete artifact package for the paper “Highlight Test Code: Visualizing the Co-Evolution of Test and Production Code in Software Repositories”, accepted at SBES 2025.

The artifact includes:

• The complete source code of the Highlight Test Code tool, composed of a backend (Python/FastAPI) and a frontend (React), designed to analyze the evolution of test and production code in GitHub repositories.

• Scripts and heuristics for classifying test code, based on the method proposed by Gonzalez et al. (2017), with a demonstration notebook.

• A curated dataset of over 500 repositories, used in the empirical study to identify test co-evolution patterns.

• Raw and processed data used in the statistical analyses presented in the paper.

The tool is executable locally and is also available as an online platform. The README file provides detailed instructions for installing and running both backend and frontend components, including environment requirements and example configurations.

Researchers can use this package to reproduce our study, analyze new repositories, and explore co-evolution patterns using their own data.
