The Milky Way through metal-poor stars - I. Analysis Techniques with Korg
Authors/Creators
Description
Data used in Lowe+2025 to spectroscopically analyse 16 metal-poor stars across the Milky Way galaxy. This work is yet to be submitted.
The following datasets are included:
- table_gaiaparams.csv
This contains the Gaia DR3 parameters, alongside corrected reddening values for our sample: Star ID, Gaia DR3 source IDs, RA and Declination, galactic longitude, galactic latitude, parallax, apparent magnitude and corrected reddening. - table_starparams.csv
All stellar parameters for the sample are stored in here: Star ID, Gaia DR3 source ID, SNR (both UVB and VIS), effective temperature (and errors), surface gravity (and errors), [Fe/H] (and errors), radial velocities (both UVB and VIS, alongside errors), barycentric and heliocentric corrections, microturbulence velocity, and orbit type.
Note: effective temperature, surface gravities and orbital classification were taken from 2025PASA...42...40L - table_abunds.csv
The measured Korg stellar abundances for our sample. All 16 elements for all 16 stars are given here. Both [X/Fe] and [X/H] abundances are included. If a star is a non-detection, then 'detection' will be 'N', with their upplimits provided in columns 'xfe_ul' and 'xh_ul'. Otherwise ignore these entries. - table_caII_nlte.csv
Here is the NLTE corrections applied to the Ca II triplet lines, alongside the continuum offsets used to normalise the spectra. This is given for the three Ca II lines for all 16 stars. The corrected [Ca/Fe] value is given here too. - table_c_evo_corr.csv
This has all the evolutionary corrections we applied to our [C/Fe] values. The non-correct [C/Fe] value is given here as well. - table_windows.csv
The list of windows used in Korg to derive chemical abundances for our sample, ordered by atomic number.
