The Skull Numbered I/10 Found in the Ossuary of Székesfehérvár: Habsburg Albert or Matthias Corvinus?
Description
This preprint, submitted to Archaeological Research in Asia, presents an interdisciplinary reassessment of the male skull labeled I/10 from the royal ossuary of Székesfehérvár, Hungary. Combining classical anthropological measurements, 3D laser scanning, forensic facial reconstruction, and iconographic comparison, the study concludes that the skull can be identified as belonging to King Matthias Corvinus (1443–1490). This finding provides new insights into Hungarian royal burials and historical anthropology. This manuscript is currently under peer review.
