Life form:—Subshrub.
Habitat:—The species occurs in the Cerrado and Subtropical Highland Grasslands, growing on sandstone outcrops and sand soil at an elevation of 920–1194 m a.s.l.
Geographic distribution:—Campo Largo: J. Cordeiro V. Nicolack 682 (FUEL!). Jaguariaíva: O.S. Ribas & L.B.S. Pereira 1655 (MBM!). Palmeira: L.T. Dombrowski 9432 (MBM!). Piraí do Sul: J. Cordeiro 870 (MBM!). Ponta Grossa: E.D. Lozano 2428 (MBM!). Sengés: G. Hatschbach 29253 (MBM!). Tibagi: C.H.Voltolini 80 (HUEM).
Number of gatherings:—20. Most recent record:—2016.
Preliminary conservation status:—Endangered (EN – B2ab[i,ii]). EOO = 6,384.91 km 2 and AOO = 40 km 2.
Conservation unit:—Campos Gerais National Park, Guartelá State Park, and Vila Velha State Park.
