Description
Data Release for the SMART MSP Census
This record contains data products associated with Lee et al. (2025), "The Southern-sky MWA Rapid Two-metre (SMART) pulsar survey—III. A census of millisecond pulsars at 154 MHz" (to be published in the Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia).
Tabulated Data
The data from Tables 1 and 2 are provided as a single table with 40 rows in ECSV format, which can be parsed by Astropy. The columns are described below.
| Column Name(s) | Units | Description |
| PSRJ | none | The pulsar name (J2000) |
| PSRB | none | The pulsar name (B1950) |
| GL, GB | deg | The Galactic longitude and latitude |
| P0 | ms | The spin period (rounded to 3 d.p.) |
| DM, DM_ERR | pc / cm3 | The dispersion measure |
| S154, S154_ERR | mJy | The mean flux density at 154 MHz |
| BINARY | none | The binary system/companion type |
| EPOCH_MJD | days | The Modified Julian Date of the observation |
| OBSID | none | The MWA observation ID |
| TOBS | min | The integration time |
| OFFSET | deg | The mean angular offset of the pulsar from the pointing centre during the observation |
| DET | none | A semicolon-separated list of low-frequency telescopes with previous detections of the pulsar |
| RM_OBS, RM_OBS_ERR | rad / m2 | The observed profile-averaged rotation measure |
| RM_IONO, RM_IONO_ERR | rad / m2 | The estimated ionospheric rotation measure |
| RM_IISM, RM_IISM_ERR | rad / m2 | The ionosphere-corrected profile-averaged rotation measure |
| RM_MKT, RM_MKT_ERR | rad / m2 | The rotation measure from MeerKAT reported in Spiewak et al. (2022) (doi: 10.1017/pasa.2022.19) |
| RM_PKS, RM_PKS_ERR | rad / m2 | The rotation measure from Murriyang/Parkes reported in Dai et al. (2015) (doi: 10.1093/mnras/stv508) |
| Z_MKT, Z_PKS | none | The z-score of the reference RMs relative to the MWA RMs |
| SCAT_FLAG | none | A flag indicating if the mean flux density may be underestimated due to interstellar scattering |
| LOW_RM_FLAG | none | A flag indicating if the observed RM is within the zero-peak of the Faraday dispersion function |
PSRCHIVE Archives
The folded data cubes are provided in PSRCHIVE format as Stokes parameters with 5-s subintegrations and 160-kHz subbands (or 320-kHz for J0437-4715, J2241-5236, and J2256-1024). The data have been provided with the maximum phase resolution, even for low-S/N detections, so the user can downsample based on their needs. For pulsars with RM measurements, the Faraday rotation has been removed and the RMs are stored in the headers. The archives have not been flux calibrated.
ASCII Profiles
The full-Stokes integrated pulse profiles are provided in ASCII format, produced by the PSRCHIVE command `pdv -ZKt`.
