This nature of the gig economy makes it dependent on digital platforms, which introduces a risk of cybersecurity. This research paper examines the cybersecurity challenges faced by gig economy stakeholders, including data breaches, user privacy concern, fraud, phishing attacks and lack of standardization. It also states various solutions such as using strong passwords, installing security software, educating employees, encryption of sensitive data, and time-to-time data backup.
