VALIDATION OF A LOGICAL MODEL FOR DENTISTRY TRAINING IN BRAZIL

Higher education in Dentistry is a priority theme both in the national and international scenario, and should happen according to contemporary demands. To verify this formation, evaluations are necessary, and the Logical Model is an important tool in this process. The objective of this study is to build and validate a Logical Model of higher education in Dentistry in Brazil, based on the 2021 National Curriculum Guidelines. This is an evaluability study with a qualitative approach. The model was developed based on an analysis of the literature on the subject and it was validated through a Consensus Conference with four stakeholders. Five remote rounds were carried out, three individual asynchronous and two collective synchronous, and the data were analyzed qualitatively. The final model portrays how higher education in Dentistry should be in Brazil and has three dimensions: Pedagogical approach; Profile of the graduate; and Health care guidance. This Logic Model represents a relevant tool, as it displays, in a simplified, clear and objective way, the components necessary for the training process of future dental surgeons, as well as for their evaluation.
