Description

Dataset Title:

Soil Conservation Recommendations for the Meenachil Watershed, Kerala, India (RUSLE-based)

Description:

This GIS shapefile provides pixel-level conservation priority recommendations for the Meenachil River Basin in Kottayam district, Kerala, India. It is the output of an integrated geospatial analysis using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), slope gradients, and land use/land cover data. Conservation measures such as contour bunds, trenches, bench terraces, and afforestation have been suggested based on erosion severity, slope class, and land use type following national guidelines (IMSD, 1995; Naidu et al., 2014; Gurmel et al., 1990). The dataset supports spatially targeted soil and water conservation planning in a humid tropical highland agroecosystem.
