Description

The EU-CIP project is dedicated to advancing the security and resilience of Europe’s critical infrastructures by mapping the landscape of research, innovation, and technological development in Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). Through systematic collection and analysis of information on CIP research areas, innovation activities, technological solutions, and standards, the project aims to provide actionable insights and strategic foresight for policymakers, industry, and the research community.
This inaugural report focuses on establishing a comprehensive overview of the current state of CIP in Europe, with a particular emphasis on EU-funded initiatives such as Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects. It highlights key technological areas, sectoral developments, and the outcomes of prominent research and innovation projects. Input has been gathered from a wide network of stakeholders, including project partners, critical infrastructure operators, solution vendors, and members of the European Cluster for Securing Critical Infrastructures (ECSCI), ensuring a well-rounded and up-to-date perspective.
