Downslope velocity fields of rock glaciers in the Tibet-Pamir-Karakoram region

This dataset contains 19,727 tif files, which  are the downslope velocity fields for 19,727 rock glaciers compiled in TPRoGI [v1.0]. The name of each tif file is the 'ID' attribute of the corresponding rock glacier in TPRoGI. The dataset was generated using the Sentinel-1 InSAR data from July to August 2022. Each pixel records the downslope velocity in cm/yr. Because InSAR performance may degrade on smaller rock glaciers due to aliasing effects caused by sparse pixel coverage, we restricted to rock glaciers with areas exceeding 0.1 km2. Given the constraints of our InSAR approach, we recommend using our InSAR-derived velocity products with caution. Empirically, we suggest that our approach yields higher reliability for rock glaciers with velocities between 10 and 100 cm/yr, which constitute approximately 75% (~15,000) of all assessed rock glaciers in our study region.
