This dataset contains figures and supplementary data of the remote sensing and geophysical survey at the Amyklaion near Sparti, Greece. The measurements were conducted within the framework of the project »Archaeological-Geophysical Prospection at the Sanctuary of Apollo Amyklaios near Sparta«, which was co-financed by the
»Programme for the Promotion of the Exchange and Scientific Cooperation between Greece and Germany«, under the call IKYDA 202218. The aims of the project and the measurements were:
1) To identify further anthropogenic structures in the immediate vicinity to discuss the question of possible secondary sanctuary structures, such as stoai, hostels, cisterns, etc. and to possibly pursue them with targeted excavations.
2) To come to a better understanding of the embedding of the sanctuary in its local, regional and possibly supra-regional environment by identifying infrastructural remains.
The data was collected in summer 2022. The results are published in the article:
