Abstract
The perihelion precession of Mercury has long served as a cornerstone for testing gravitational theories. While Einstein's General Theory of Relativity successfully accounted for the unexplained 43 arcseconds per century in Mercury's orbit, it does so by assuming a static solar within spacetime curvature. This paper introduces a novel perspective, attributing the observed drag to the Sun's galactic motion—approximately 230 km/s—and its resulting the Sun’s angular drift . We propose a new mathematical formula that derives the same perihelion shift without invoking spacetime curvature. This model emphasizes classical inertial dynamics under the Sun’s angular drift and provides an alternate yet consistent explanation that aligns closely with observed data.
