Description
Ocimum sanctum, known as Tulsi, is a cornerstone of traditional Indian medicine. In recent years,
genomics and biotechnology have provided powerful tools to investigate its therapeutic potential at
the molecular level. This study explores the genomic architecture, gene expression patterns, and
metabolite biosynthesis pathways in Tulsi. Using transcriptomic analysis, molecular docking, and
CRISPR-based metabolic engineering perspectives, we present a comprehensive analysis of key
therapeutic compounds and their biosynthetic gene clusters. The research aims to facilitate the
development of optimized cultivars and bioengineered compounds for pharmaceutical use.
