A Comprehensive GNSS Dataset from the 40th Laura Bassi Expedition to Antarctica
Description
This comprehensive dataset offers 200 days of raw GNSS receiver measurements acquired continuously during an Antarctic research vessel expedition, spanning October 7, 2024, to April 24, 2025. Data is provided in daily-segmented UBX binary files, capturing multi-constellation L1-band observations. Specific message types include UBX-NAV-PVT for position and time, UBX-NAV-SAT for satellite metadata, UBX-MON-RF for RF front-end diagnostics, UBX-MON-SPAN for FFT results of the received signal spectrum, UBX-RXM-MEASX for raw satellite pseudorange and carrier-phase data, and UBX-RXM-RLM for intermittent Galileo SAR return-link messages. The file organization by UTC date facilitates efficient batch parsing while maintaining individual file sizes under approximately 600 MB.
