Introducing Fedora - The flexible, modular, open-source repository platform for long-term digital preservation

  • 1. Fedora

Description

Fedora, an open-source digital repository platform supporting the long-term preservation of digital objects, has been around for over 20 years. Fedora offers users the flexibility to manage and store any type of digital content, in any format or data model they need and leverages the Oxford Common File Layout (OCFL) as a data standard within the persistence layer, lowering migration barriers into the future. Currently on version 6.x, Fedora has returned to its digital preservation roots, increased transparency and offers a robust solution for preserving digital content well into the future.

In this Repository Showdown, the Fedora Team will provide a community update, discuss the current state of technology and outline the future roadmap for the program. Presenters will provide attendees with details on how Fedora supports digital preservation and explore some of the unique use cases within our global community.
