Description

The success of the GREENGAGE project hinges upon effectively translating the identified use cases, user requirements, data gaps, and governance approaches into tangible technical specifications. This deliverable presents the outcomes of the task dedicated to analysing and defining the requirements for the GREENGAGE platform, both from a functional and non-functional perspective, with a particular emphasis on establishing robust means for measuring these requirements through credible and well-defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
To begin, this task undertakes a comprehensive analysis of the use cases, thoroughly examining the various scenarios and real-world applications in which the GREENGAGE platform will be deployed. By understanding the specific needs, challenges, and objectives of each use case, the task captures the essential user requirements that must be fulfilled to meet the project's goals effectively. These user requirements serve as the foundation for shaping the technical specifications of the GREENGAGE platform.
In parallel, the task meticulously identifies the data gaps present within the project's context. It acknowledges the desired data that is currently unavailable but deemed necessary for the success of Citizen Observatories and informed decision-making processes. By articulating these data gaps, the task highlights the need for collecting, curating, and harmonizing data from diverse sources to obtain a comprehensive understanding of environmental issues related to mobility, air quality, and healthy living.
Building upon these analyses, the deliverable proceeds to define a full specification of the GREENGAGE platform requirements. It leverages established methodologies like Volere [1] to outline both functional and non-functional requirements comprehensively. These specifications serve as a detailed blueprint for the development of the platform, ensuring that it aligns with the identified use cases, user requirements, and governance principles.
Furthermore, the deliverable presents a high-level architecture for the GREENGAGE platform. Leveraging the micro-services architectural pattern, this architecture facilitates seamless communication, data sharing, and integration between the front-end and back-end layers of the platform. It also addresses the challenge of integrating diverse data sources, which require curation and harmonization before they can be fused to derive valuable insights related to environmental issues.
In addition to the specification and architecture, the deliverable outlines the process and data workflows that will guide the implementation and operation of the GREENGAGE platform. These workflows provide a structured framework for data collection, processing, analysis, and decision-making, ensuring that the platform operates efficiently and delivers the desired outcomes.
Overall, this deliverable represents a significant milestone in the GREENGAGE project, encapsulating the in-depth analysis of use cases, user requirements, data gaps, and governance approaches. By translating these findings into technical specifications, a solid foundation is laid for the development of the GREENGAGE platform. The comprehensive specification, high-level architecture, and well-defined workflows serve as guiding pillars for subsequent stages of the project, facilitating the implementation, evaluation, and refinement of the platform to achieve the project's vision of promoting sustainable mobility practices and improving the well-being of citizens.
