TGB Osborn Vegetation Reserve: Background to the collection in TERN

  • 1. ROR icon Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network

Description

This document is the background and introduction prepared in 2025 for the collection of observations made between 1926 (the eariest comment dates to 1907) and 2014 at the University of Adelaide's TGB Osborn Vegetation Reserve, an enclosure situated in Koonamore Station, South Australia. The collection contains information on vegetation regeneration and status, kangaroo, and rabbit activity.

Observations were initially compiled and delivered through the Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network's data portal by Dr Russ Sinclair in 2014. The data made available through the TERN Data Discovery Portal (TDDP) in 2025 has been cleaned and revised by Dr Alison Specht to ensure the data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable. This recent update includes nearly 6,000 digital images, observations for which are in the TERN Data Discovery Portal (TDDP), which have been added to the collection. These are available through the linked TERN EcoImages

For access to original field records and photographs contact the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Adelaide and/or the University Archives. Acknowledgement is due to all the students, staff and researchers who have collected data at the site since its establishment, to those who have entered the data, and to the support of funders and interested parties, including the University of Adelaide.

This work is supported by Australia's Terrestrial Ecosystem Research Network (TERN) which is supported by the Australian Government through the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy, NCRIS.
