Food Additive Intake Model (FAIM) version 3.0.0

Description

The Food Additive Intake Model (FAIM) estimates chronic dietary exposure to food additives, including new additives or new uses of authorised ones, based on consumption and occurrence data. The updated application FAIM 3.0.0 implements the core calculation algorithm and, in addition to the whole population scenario introduces two new exposure scenarios: one focusing on exposed consumers only, and another limited to consumers of selected food categories.

The tool is available in R4EU. Users can provide input either manually through the user interface or by uploading a pre-filled template. The application integrates these inputs with population-based food consumption data from EU Member States to calculate individual exposure estimates. All results are presented interactively within the tool and can also be exported. Input datasets and analysis configurations can also be saved and reloaded, facilitating repeated or continuous assessments.
