Una lectura foucaultiana de la tensión entre biopolítica, tanatopolítica y necropolítica en tres experiencias paradigmáticas latinoamericanas

Resumen: Este artículo se propone analizar la tensión entre biopolítica, tanatopolítica y necropolítica en clave foucaultiana a través del análisis de tres acontecimientos fundacionales de sociedades y Estados latinoamericanos, que replicaron e ilustraron la articulación entre esas categorías: la denominada Conquista del Desierto de Argentina, la denominada Pacificación de la Araucanía de Chile y la Guerra de Canudos de Brasil. Aun sin desconocer ni dejar de tener en cuenta la especificidad de cada acontecimiento, cada uno de ellos respondió a la lógica de la biopolítica, la tanatopolítica y la necropolítica y se inscribió en la coyuntura precisa de la definición, la formación y la implementación de los proyectos nacionales en cada país. Esa operación no quedó, sin embargo, únicamente anclada en el pasado, sino que sus efectos siguen aún vigentes en el actual escenario político, económico, social y cultural. De ahí que este trabajo se presente también, empleando el lenguaje foucaultiano del que se reivindica heredero, como una contribución a una “ontología crítica del presente”.
Abstract (English)
Abstract: This article aims to analyze the tension between biopolitics, thanatopolitics and necropolitics in a Foucauldian key through the analysis of three founding events of Latin American societies and states, which replicated and illustrated the articulation between these categories: the so-called Conquest of the Desert in Argentina, the so-called Pacification of the Araucanía in Chile and the Canudos War in Brazil. Even without ignoring or failing to consider the specificity of each event, each of them responded to the logic of biopolitics, thanatopolitics and necropolitics and was inscribed in the precise conjuncture of the definition, formation and implementation of national projects in each country. This operation was not, however, only anchored in the past, but its effects are still in force in the current political, economic, social and cultural scene. Hence, this work is also presented, using the Foucauldian language of which it claims to be the heir, as a contribution to a “critical ontology of the present”.
