This repository contains data and code presented in paper titled: Precise control of crystallography and magnetism in focused-ion-beam transformed iron-nickel thin films
In the EBSD folder, there is the processed.oim file contains EBSD data post-processed using the TSLM OIM Analysis software from EDAX. This dataset includes: the raw EBSD data, the data after the cleanup procedure (described in the article), and the most relevant dataset, named cleaned-45deg cropped, which contains only the cropped data from our region of interest. Within the cleaned-45deg cropped dataset, the eight files orientation1 to orientation8 provide histograms of misorientation relative to the reference cubes within our eight domains (NNE etc.). These were used to construct the EBSD figure in the manuscript. These maps are also exported to the txt files in the corresponding folder.
The Kerr Microscopy folder contains 36 subfolders labeled 0deg to 360deg, corresponding to 36 orientations of the sample within the microscope. Each folder includes Kerr images recorded during magnetic field sweeps (±13 mT) for each orientation. The edited folder contains Kerr images that have been rotated to a common orientation for post-processing, along with the already extracted hysteresis loops from individual domains (e.g., NNE, etc.). Folders named structure0 to structure7 contain the extracted normalized remanence values for each sample orientation in the external magnetic field for each domain. Finally, the included Origin file contains the polar remanence plots (shown in Figure 3 of the article), along with the fitted directions of the magnetic easy axis based on Equation 1 in the article.
In the PythonStrainFromKerr folder is the python code computing the strain magnetoelastic tensor from the Kerr data. This was used for a discussion of Table1.
