10,000 years of spatially joint events of extreme sea levels and river discharges in the U.S.
Description
This folder contains the synthetic dataset of 10,000 years of spatially joint events of extreme sea levels and river discharges for the marjor U.S. coastlines as described in the paper "Assessing the spatial correlation of potential compound flooding in the United States" (https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2025-2993).
The dataset contains synthetic events for two U.S. coastal regions: 1) the West coast and 2) the combined Gulf and East coasts.
Files 'yr_index.csv' include the information on how an event (each row) is constructed and the columns are:
- 'Year' refers to the hypothetic simulation year;
- 'Consite' indicates the conditioning variable (e.g. wl_s1 refers to the total water level at site 1)
- 'Con_idx' shows the corresponding index of this conditioning variable
Files '{coast}_5d.csv' consist of generated synthetic events with rows representing individual events and columns denoting the variable values.
