Uptake of CoARA across the Higher Education Institutions in Europe

Presenation at CoARA General Assembly 23 June 2025
The aim of this work-in-progress is to better understand the uptake of CoARA across Higher Education Institutions (HEI) in Europe. The presenation addresses the following questions:
1. What share of CoARA members are universities, in and outside Europe?
2. What share of HEIs (awarding and not awarding PhD, universities in Leiden Ranking Open Edition) are members of CoARA across European countries?
3. Does the share of CoARA members differ according to size, institutional control (public/private) or relative STEM specialization of HEIs?
4. How many HEIs are engaged with CoARA, HR Excellence and DORA, and what share of HEIs are engaged with CoARA and/or HR Excellence?
