Execution-as-a-Platform – A Manifesto
Description
Execution-as-a-Platform (EaaP) is a proposed new category of infrastructure purpose-built for the AI-native era. As large language models increasingly generate code, the need arises for deterministic, secure, and automated execution layers. This manifesto defines the EaaP paradigm, outlines its architectural foundations, and discusses its societal and technical implications. It also introduces Heim as the first implementation of EaaP — a self-orchestrating execution environment for machine-generated software.
Note: This is a corrected and updated version of the original manifesto scheduled for publication on 2025-06-24 (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.15720837). It includes minor typographical corrections and formatting improvements.
