Abstract
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has introduced a transformative vision for the integration of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) into higher education curricula. This paper explores the historical significance, scope, challenges, and opportunities associated with incorporating IKS into modern education. It evaluates the guidelines set by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the inclusion of IKS and discusses the need for a structured approach to ensure the effective implementation of these guidelines. The paper further examines how interdisciplinary education, digital technology, and research-driven initiatives can bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and contemporary academic frameworks, fostering a holistic and culturally enriched education system in India.
