THE CRANIOORBITAL FORAMEN OF HYRTL - A NEWLY IDENTIFIED CHANNEL OF VASCULAR SUPPLY
Description
The cranio-orbital foramen of Hyrtl, a minor anatomical aperture in orbit, facilitates the passage of the recurrent meningeal branch - a vascular structure originating from the lateral (lacrimal) artery and anastomosing with the ophthalmic branch of the middle meningeal artery. This study aimed to identify and characterize this foramen in human skulls through craniometric analysis.
