Morphometrics data of Schizothorax eurycephalus and Triplophysa ferganaensis of the Shakhimardan River basin, Uzbekistan

This dataset accompanies the article "Contribution to morphometrics and ecology of snow trout (Schizothorax eurycephalus) and stone loach (Triplophysa ferganaensis)" and provides detailed fish biometric and sampling site data collected for ecological and biodiversity assessments. The data are organized into two separate sheets: Single_fish and Site_summary, each containing complementary information relevant to the study.

Sheet: Single_fish

This sheet contains individual fish measurements recorded during field sampling. Each row represents a single fish specimen, and data include:

• Site_ID: Identifier of the sampling site, consistent with the associated article.

• Species_latin: Scientific (Latin) name of the species.

• Total_length_mm: Total length of the fish in millimeters (mm).

• Weight_g: Weight of the fish in grams (g).

• Width_mm: Maximum width of the fish in millimeters (mm).

• Height_mm: Maximum height of the fish in millimeters (mm).

Sheet: Site_summary

This sheet summarizes site-level sampling information, including river names, catch statistics, and GPS coordinates:

• Site_ID: Identifier of the sampling site, matching entries in the Single_fish sheet.

• River: Name of the river where sampling occurred.

• Sampled_river_length_m: Total length (in meters) of the river section sampled at each site.

• GPS_WP_downstream: Geographic coordinates (WGS84) of the downstream sampling point.

• ST_catch / ST_100m: Raw and standardized abundance (individuals per 100 m) of snow trout (Schizothorax eurycephalus).

• Loach_catch / Loach_100m: Raw and standardized abundance (individuals per 100 m) of loach (Triplophysa ferganaensis).

The dataset is intended to support ecological studies and species abundance comparisons, and may also serve as a reference for future biodiversity monitoring in freshwater systems.
