Description
Tangible Tomorrow is a poetic and deeply personal exploration into what it means to feel present with someone even when separated by oceans, time zones, and screens. As a multidisciplinary artist and designer who moved from Pakistan to the U.S., I experienced firsthand the emotional weight of distance from my wife and child a void that no call or video chat could truly fill. That longing became the foundation for this body of work.
This book chronicles my journey to reimagine connection in an age where technology promises closeness but often delivers distraction. While digital tools enable instant communication, they rarely recreate the quiet, intimate moments that shape our deepest relationships, a hug, a breath, a shared silence. Tangible Tomorrow investigates how art, design, and creative technology can reclaim these missing layers of presence through sensory-rich, embodied experiences.
By incorporating elements like warmth, scent, synchronized movement, and touch, this work invites us to think beyond the screen to explore what it really means to feel someone’s presence, even across great distances. Informed by emotional design, robotics, and human-centered interaction, Tangible Tomorrow offers new ways of nurturing closeness when proximity isn’t possible.
Because real connection isn’t just about being there, it’s about feeling each other, fully, even when we’re far apart.
