Open Science Monitoring in Finland
Authors/Creators
- 1. National Open Science and Research Coordination Federation of Finnish Learned Societies
Description
This presentation outlines the development and implementation of Finland’s national monitoring model for open science and research. The Monitoring model for open science and research is based in the open science policy framework co-created by the Finnish research community and its organisations. The indicators presented in the monitoring have been refined over time, with new ones added through a collaborative, community-led process
The presentation also covers the implementation rounds in 2022 and 2024. It explains how the data are collected, analysed and presented, including the use of interactive visualisations in Research.fi portal. Effective communication has been key in maintaining high levels of engagement and trust across the research community, as demonstrated by exceptionally high response rates (83%–100% in 2022, 92%–100% in 2024).
