Research-based solutions for sustainable agri-food system addressed to the European Green Deal objectives (GreenAgroRes)

The overall objective - to enhance knowledge and create scientifically based solutions for the sustainable and rational use of Latvia's natural resources, to increase their added value during evolving socio-economic, environmental, and climate conditions. Lead partner: Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. Partners: Institute of Horticulture, Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics, Institute of Food safety, Animal Health and Environment "BIOR". Targets: 1. To develop scientifically justified, European Green Deal targets oriented solutions for sustainable and rational use of Latvia's natural resources and for increase of their added value, therefore in long term perspective creating positive socio-economic impact. 2. To promote development of scientific human capital, expand the knowledge base and strengthen educational processes. Scientific activities are grouped in three work packages: WP1 Solutions for sustainable, qualitative and competitive food production in environmentally friendly agriculture. WP2. Novel knowledge and solutions for food and health. WP3. European Green Deal pathways and socioeconomic implications. Main results: 1) 17 WoS/Scopus publications; 2) 12 conference abstracts; 3) 2 new products and technologies; 4) 9 policy recommendations; 5) 3 international scientific project proposals; 6) 4 bachelor and master thesis defended; 7) 11 other scientific outputs. Duration: 16 months.
