TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP APPROACH TO FOSTERING UNITY AMONG CHURCH CHORISTERS

Abstract

In Church music ministry, group dynamics, cohesiveness, and productivity are all greatly influenced by leadership. The overall efficacy of many church choirs is negatively affected by Jealousy, Envy, Ego, Pride, Musical differences and Skill level, Lack of Spiritual focus, and Resistance to personal growth and development. The transformational leadership method or approach is examined in this study as a means of encouraging unity among church choir members. Transformational leadership fosters team cohesion and performance by emphasizing vision, motivation, and personal growth. This paper looks at how church choirs might benefit from the use of essential components of transformational, including intellectual stimulation, individual consideration, inspirational motivation, and idealized influence, to improve cohesion, dedication, and overall efficacy. Information was gathered from choir leaders, choristers, and church officials using qualitative study techniques to evaluate the effect of leadership styles on choir unity. According to the study, using a transformational leadership style in Church choirs greatly boosts unity, raises performance, and fortifies the church music ministry as a whole. It suggests that choir directors have leadership training and that inclusive decision-making procedures be implemented in order to guarantee that every member feels appreciated and involved.
