Displacement reparation decisions of international and regional (quasi-)judicial bodies (individual & group claims, 1985 - 2020)
Description
A systematic overview of over 70 final judgments or decisions of international / regional human rights bodies which order or recommend reparative measures aimed at remedying displacement.
Abstract (English)
This dataset draws on the work of nine international or regional human rights courts or quasi-judicial commissions between 1985 and 2020. It gives a systematic overview of over 70 final judgments or decisions which order or recommend reparative measures aimed at remedying displacement (i.e. forced, involuntary or coerced population movement) and/or its consequences. It focuses on decisions in respect of claims by individuals and groups, rather than claims between states.
The decisions were issued by the following human rights bodies: the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfrCommHPR), African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights (AfrCrtHPR), European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IAmCommHR), Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IAmCrtHR), the UN Committee against Torture (UNCAT), UN Human Rights Committee (UNHRC) and the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (UNCESCR).
