Holotype (BMNH [D. Mann, pers. comm.]); type locality: Antigua, Lesser Antilles.

Original rank: species. Current rank and status: synonym of S. subspinipes Leach, 1815 (Kohlrausch 1878, 1879, 1881; Kraepelin 1903; Brölemann 1909; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1939, 1942 a).

Remarks: This name was omitted by Bücherl (1974).
