Description

This activity invites players to take on the role of consultants for an engineering company specializing in sustainable drainage projects. The consultants are hired by the mayor to design a Sustainable Drainage System using Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). This mission arises in response to an increase in rainfall events that have caused localized flooding and deteriorated water quality due to urban runoff.
The game dynamics involve two teams progressing along separate paths. Each team will take on a specialized focus: one focused on urban runoff management (Runoff Team) and the other on pollutant management (Pollutants Team). Throughout the challenges, the teams must solve specific tasks related to their specialization, allowing them to acquire new knowledge in a practical manner. During the development of the challenges, two guides will be available to assist the teams, answer any questions that arise, and ensure the tasks are completed successfully.
Once the team challenges are completed, both teams will meet at a discussion point. During this phase, they will have the opportunity to exchange knowledge and pose questions about the topics addressed by their counterparts. This exchange of information will be key for the teams to work together as a unified group to solve a final problem, marking the culmination of the game.
