COMPARATIVE RESEARCH IN UZBEK LITERARY STUDIES

Description

This article examines the development of comparative research in Uzbek literary studies, focusing on its historical development and the contributions of key scholars. Initiated in the latter half of the twentieth century, comparative research has advanced significantly by incorporating the works of prominent Uzbek authors into a global literary context. The study highlights Navois “Khamsa,” literary relations between Uzbek and world literature, and significant figures such as Abdullah Qahhor and Jack London. By conducting a thorough comparative analysis of the autobiographical confessions written by both Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Leo Tolstoy, this examination delves into genre-specific studies and uncovers universal themes of morality, self-reflection, and cultural values prevalent in both works. The article effectively emphasizes the immense importance of comparative literature as a valuable method to further deepen our understanding of both national and global literary heritage.
