Authors/Creators

Description

In considering the management of social business, it is necessary to first define the connotation of the word "social." In addition, it is important to address the question of what the differences are between for-profit and non-profit organizations. The term "social business" is employed to denote the emergence of business entities that straddle the nexus between for-profit and non-profit domains. Consequently, the conventional distinctions between these two categories are being subjected to re-evaluation. The present study focuses on the concept of "social enterprise," which refers to the entities that operate as social businesses. This concept is examined from the perspective of the emergence of a novel corporate form. A research path is presented for exploring the nature of its management, based on previous research. By interrogating the concepts of "sociality" and "businessness" in the context of social enterprise research, we aim to elucidate the distinctive characteristics of social enterprises as a distinct corporate form and to discern its inherent contradictions.
