There Has Never Been a Law of Parity Violation: The Nobel Prize in Physics May Have Been Given in Error—Twice

For decades, physicists believed that weak interactions violated parity symmetry—a principle presumed universal. But what if parity symmetry was never part of nature to begin with? This essay argues that mirror inversion symmetry was a linguistic projection, never empirically realized nor constructible. The 1957 Wu experiment did not reveal a broken law, but exposed a false expectation. And yet, this illusion was institutionalized—twice—with Nobel Prizes affirming both the projection and its failure. This is not a discovery of asymmetry, but a persistent misreading of theoretical elegance as empirical truth. Perhaps it is time to stop seeking new symmetries, and start facing the ones we never had.
