Scavenger Proteins Redirect Heme‑Driven Oxidative Stress
Authors/Creators
Description
This dataset comprises measurements from ex vivo mouse brain slice cultures exposed to hemoglobin, heme, and the respective scavenger protein complexes heme-hemopexin and hemoglobin-haptoglobin. It includes five complementary readouts capturing heme-iron deposition (ICP-MS), lipid peroxidation (MDA assay), transcriptional stress and adaptive signatures (RNA-seq gene-set scores), and neuronal viability (immunohistochemistry). Bootstrap pseudo-replicates were generated to preserve covariance structure and enable principal component analysis, revealing distinct oxidative toxicity and metabolic adaptation axes. This resource supports mechanistic modeling of hemorrhagic stroke-related oxidative injury and protective responses.
