Dark Matter Across Galactic Scales and Cosmic Time: current challenges and perspectives

Being part of the MAGPI collaboration we investigated 65 central star-forming galaxies at redshifts around z=0.3 corresponding to look-back times of 4Gyr. Using the Stellar Population Spectral Synthesis tool FADO we measured strong emission lines and determined total stellar masses. We derived spatially resolved properties of local oxygen abundance (gas metallicity rZ), surface density of star formation rate (Sigma_SFR), and stellar surface mass density (Sigma_mass). Galaxies follow a resolved Star Formation Main Sequence as well as a resolved mass metallicity relation (rMZR). With a partial correlation analysis we found that the resolved Fundamental Metallicity relation (rFMR) is established for these distant galaxies because local metallicity rZ is mainly governed by Sigma_mass and a weaker inverse dependence on Sigma_SFR. In addition, global stellar mass has a significant influence on the rFMR. A comprehensive presentation of this research is given in the A&A paper by Koller et al 2024, see arXiv:2406.20017.
