Description
This deliverable D6.1 State of the Art Survey on SDG, represents a foundational effort to map the landscape of synthetic data generation (SDG) as of month 6 of the SYNTHIA project. Conducting this survey early in the project lifecycle is critical for establishing a shared knowledge base, identifying key opportunities and challenges, and guiding the development of SYNTHIA’s methodologies and tools. It also fosters a common understanding of synthetic data across the consortium, ensuring alignment and clarity among all partners. The survey was conducted collaboratively by Work Package 6 (WP6), "SDG Tools and Methods," resulting in a comprehensive document titled Navigating Opportunities and Challenges in Synthetic Data Generation for Biomedicine: Insights from the SYNTHIA Project (see Annex I). This document reviews the latest literature, highlights current trends and innovations, and lays the groundwork for future research within SYNTHIA.
