Data accompanying "Summarizing Classed Region Maps with a Disk Choreme"

This data accompanies the paper "Summarizing Classed Region Maps with a Disk Choreme" and contains the twelve choropleths we used in our evaluation: six choropleths of Hessen, Germany, and six choropleths of The Netherlands. There are two files in GeoPackage format containing both the geometry (shapes) of the municipalities as well as the statistical data. Each file has a single layer called "regions". Each feature has 7 attributes: six statistical data attributes (floating-point numbers) and a text attribute called "name" that serves as an identifier for that region. The data attributes were selected arbitrarily, but such that they result in distinct visual patterns.

File dutch_selected.gpkg is based on the Wijk- en buurtkaart 2022. We generalized the geometries and selected six data attributes and combined them in the GeoPackage file. Our changes are under the CC-BY license.
