Authors/Creators
Description
The collection consists of a plain-text script file in Stata 16.1 syntax (Auswertung.do), which may be used to interrelate and analyse four different datasets related to the preprints and discussion paper series of the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods Bonn as of May 2025:
- Authors.tgf: All authors in the series clustered by edge-betweenness (using yEd 3.23.1).
- Language.csv: Language ([E]nglish / [G]erman) of each id (from Preprints.csv) in the series.
- Preprints.csv: Public metadata for each preprint in the series (with id linking other files herein).
The sources of these data and their usage are documented and described in detail in: Hamann, Of Festschrifts and Preprints: Exploring Understudied Academic Genres, in: Law, Behavior, and Decision (FS Engel), 2026, pp. 49–65
The last (fourth) dataset has been used exclusively as a basis for a German-language publication: Hamann, „Der schreibt auch so.“ Die persönliche Handschrift des Ge(l)ehrten im Spiegel seiner Auftaktsätze, in: Law, Behavior, and Decision (FS Engel), 2026, pp. 31–36
- CEAuftakte.csv: All first sentences in papers by Christoph Engel published within the series.
The entire data collection is dedicated to Professor Christoph Engel on the occasion of his academic retirement in September 2025 and his 70th birthday in February 2026. Congratulations and many happy returns!
