THE INFLUENCE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE, JOB SATISFACTION AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES ON THEIR ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT

Understanding the factors that influence employee commitment is important for enhancing organizational effectiveness, particularly in the Local Government Unit (LGU). This study aimed to examine the influence of organizational culture, job satisfaction, and career development opportunities on employees’ organizational commitment in LGU in Misamis Oriental. A total of 150 participants were selected through random sampling, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The research utilized a descriptive statistics and regression analysis employed to analyze the data. The findings on organizational culture showed that employees actively participated in environmental practices and valued organization’s efforts, both rated as high. Innovation also rated high, reflecting workplace supportive of new ideas and continuous improvement. Job satisfaction was rated high, reflecting favorable work conditions, compensation, and job involvement. Similarly, career development opportunities rated as high, showing employee appreciation for training and development. Organizational commitment also high, showing strong employee loyalty and dedication. Regression analysis showed that organizational culture, job satisfaction, and career development opportunities collectively influenced organizational commitment, with career development emerging as the strongest individual predictor. These results emphasize the active role of a supportive work culture, development opportunities, and job satisfaction in employee commitment. This study offers insights into employee behavior in Philippine LGUs and serves as a useful reference for future research on culture, job satisfaction, commitment, and career development across workplaces.
