PRÁTICAS ÉTICAS NA AVALIAÇÃO PSICOLÓGICA: CONHECIMENTO DE ESTUDANTES DE PSICOLOGIA
Authors/Creators
Description
This study examined the knowledge of psychology students regarding ethical practices in
psychological assessment. 73 undergraduate students completed a questionnaire containing 23
items, which evaluated whether an ethical breach occurred and its severity. Among the items,
18 were correctly identified by participants as items in which a serious ethical breach had
occurred. On average, the group scored 14.04 out of 23 possible points. Afterward, the
participants were divided into two groups according to the course period: initial-intermediate
(between the 2nd and 5th semester, n = 48) and intermediate-final (6th semester onward, n =
25) and according to their gender (female = 59, male = 14). There were no significant
differences between the groups. Considering the results of this study, ethics should be taught
in initial training to prepare professionals for safe practice for themselves as well as for the
public.
