INVESTIGATION OF THE COMPRESSION PERFORMANCE AND FAILURE MECHANISM OF PSEUDO-DUCTILE THIN-PLY HYBRID COMPOSITES

Description

The compressive damage mechanisms of thin carbon/epoxy layers were investigated in-situ in a SEM under deformation. Fragmentation, sliding along the inclined fracture planes and local delamination at the crack tips were identified as key damage modes at the microscopic level.
