THE HIGH VELOCITY IMPACT RESISTANCE OF FIBRE METAL LAMINATES

Description
The high velocity impact resistance of fibre metal laminates (FMLs) based on combinations of aluminium alloys (6161 and 7075 series) and a glass fibre reinforced epoxy resin have been investigated using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method and Finite Element (FE) method. A full-field deformations and strain for FMLs was measured to validate the developed FE model.
