Diffraction data of helium and hydrogen atoms through polycrystalline graphene

Description

Image data and radial traces calculated from image data recorded by a CMOS camera recording the phosphor screen of a MCP stack showing diffraction patterns of hydrogen and helium atoms diffracted through polycrystalline graphene. The kinetic energy of the projectile atoms was varied between 254 and 1581 eV. This energy was measured by measuring the energy of the ion beam prior to neutralization by applying a retarding potential to a Faraday Cup. Those measurements are also provided.

Notes

Image data are provided in TIFF format and can be opened using standard image processing software (for instance ImageJ). In standard image viewers they might not be displayed correctly.

"README.txt" gives a detailed description on how the data was acquired and processed to generate the radial traces.

"Info.csv" contains a table with information about all acquired images used to create this data set, like scaling factor and number of combined images.

"Diffraction_angle_wavelength.csv" contains a table showing the wavelength of a helium/hydrogen matter wave derived from the energy, and the resulting position of maxima in the diffraction images.
