Description
Recognition Science (RS) assigns every rung r in its golden-ratio ledger a recognition pressure Pr = Jr+1−Jr, with J(x) = 1/2(x + x^−1). Without free parameters, the sign of Pr predicts electron-donor versus electron-acceptor character, while its magnitude gauges reactivity. Mapping the second period of the periodic table (Li → Ne) onto the RS octave yields a linear anti-correlation between Pr and Pauling electronegativity (r = −0.995, p << 10^−3). Bond-dissociation energies for XH scale with |Pr| (R² = 0.93). Thus a purely mathematical pressure reproduces empirical valence and reactivity across eight elements. The correspondence is falsifiable: any future row that violates the monotone Pr ladder (or produces χ outside the Pr sign rule) would refute the pressure–valence link while leaving the rest of RS intact.
