George Bernard Shaw represents his views on the glory of war and higher love in his play Arms and the Man through the character of captain Bluntschli. Captain Bluntschli is the mouthpiece of George Bernard Shaw in this play. Raina Petkoff, the heroine of  the play is betrothed with Major Sergius Saranoffwho is a reputed officer in the Bulgarian army. Raina Petkoff and captain Sergius love each other. Raina Petkoff is extremely emotional and romantic for Sergius. She is impressed by Sergius’ romanticism and way of fighting in the war. Raina Petkoff glorifies to captain Sergius by saying him as her super hero. Captain Bluntschli, who is fought against Bulgarian army tells the reality of the war to Raina Petkoff. Here, George Bernard Shaw shows the funny revelation of the glory of war and higher love.
