Description

This data release contains the "unified" Gaussian-process (GP) equation-of-state (EOS) draws as described in the work Unified nonparametric equation-of-state inference from the neutron-star crust to perturbative-QCD densities. See also an accompanying GitHub repository.
 
The unified_gp_summary.csv file contains the astrophysical weight for each EOS, along with select Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff (TOV) quantities. The astrophysical weights included are derived from

The combined weights are given in the logweight_total column.

The unified_gp_draws.h5 file contains the EOS data for every entry in the unified_gp_summary.csv table. The top level keys are:
  • eos: contains the pressure/c^2 (g/cm^3), (energy density)/c^2 (g/cm^3), baryon density (g/cm^3), and speed of sound squared (c^2) (note that the TOV quantities in unified_gp_summary.csv are given in the same units).
  • ns: contains the neutron star central baryon density (g/cm^3), mass (solar masses), radius (km), and dimensionless tidal deformability.
Within each of eos and ns, individual EOS draws are indexed via their ID number (the same as in the "eos" column of unified_gp_summary.csv). See the read_data.ipynb notebook for an example of how to load the EOS data.
